  • News for the beginning of school!
    Our first official day of practice will be August 3!!! We will meet at Washington Township Park at 4pm at the shelter near the sledding hill.  For those athletes who have not come to summer conditioning, please make sure you have signed all on line e-signatures  and have either turned in a current physical dated after April 1 of 2015 or bring it with you the first day of practice. If this is not complete, then we must turn you away from the first day of practice.  Last day to join the team as a current Avon student will be August 7th.  Please make sure you have all your paperwork signed and turned in!!  
    As of right now, our weekly schedule will be:
    Monday:  WTP 4-5:30
    Tuesday: AMSN 2:45- 4:30
    Wednesday: WTP 4-5:30
    Thursday: AMSN 2:45-4:30
    Friday:  WTP 2:45-4:30 (For the first 3 fridays of the season, then we will stay at school for challenge fridays) We will be bussing the kids to the park on these fridays and might need some parent volunteers to help with this. Above 28 kids on the team, we will be calling on parents who would be able to help us carpool the kids to the park. This will only be the first three fridays of the season.
    (WTP- Washington Township Park) 
    Our parent meeting will be held on Frday August 7th at 4 pm at the park.. This will give us time to talk about the season, expectations, snack schedules and parent volunteer opportunities... If you can not make this time, please let me know so I can get information to your student and it will be sent home to you...
    If your son/daughter is on the fence about joining XC, they have the first FULL week of school to decide...  We can no longer accept athletes past August 7th... 10 days of practice is hardly enough time to get them race ready, but that is the minimum amount of days of practice required before they can compete... Our first race is on August 18th, and the season flies by.  If your student is transferring in from another school and has been running XC there, those days will count toward his/her practice days with us.
    Looking forward to a great season!!!  Those who have been coming to summer conditioning are doing a fabulous job... Keep up the positive attitudes and work ethic... And we are looking forward to meeting new faces here soon...
