6th Grade Science/Social Studies

Welcome to 6th grade!  I am excited to be here and excited to have you in my class!!!

This is my 13th year of teaching.  I have spent most of my past 12 years teaching fourth and fifth grade high ability.  I graduated from IU in 2002 with a degree in elementary education with a minor in political science and math.  I also got my Gifted and Talented endorsement from IU in 2005.  I love teaching all subjects but am excited to focus on science and social studies this year.

I am originally from Columbus, Indiana.  I met my husband, Brian, at my sister's wedding (we were the only two unattached members of the bridal party!).  We just celebrated our 12th anniversary together!!  We don't have any kids, but we have two basset hounds (Abby and Lucy) that we adore.

Our lives revolve around racing.  We love all forms of racing (Nascar, Indycar, NHRA Drag Racing, Formula 1, Global Rallycross, etc), and you will see that in my classroom!  I have been lucky enough to bring racing into the classroom through physics and take field trips to local racing team shops so students can see physics in action.

At AIS East, information on each of our classes can be found in our Learning Management System, Schoology.  Homework is posted each night on the course calendar
