Welcome to Science Olympiad!
Here's everything you need to know for the 2018-19 Season!
What Do We Do?
Science Olympiad ("Sci Oly" for short) is like a track meet, but with science! There are 23 events you can compete in, ranging anywhere from building towers to experiencing a chemistry lab to studying anatomy and physiology, and the better you do, the more points you get for our team! You can work by yourself or with a partner in most events, and each competition has plenty of study material and helpful guides that will help you along the way. Events are categorized into three main types: building, lab, and study events.
When Do We Meet?
Our meetings/practices are usually Wednesday's after school in Mrs. Moxley's room for 30-45 minutes, and competitions happen on Saturday's (but only 3-4 times a year). Competitions are laid back and fun, with lots of snacks and time to spend with friends. We will keep you up-to-date on scheduling and meeting dates.
Callout Meeting: Wednesday, August 29 after school in D212.
What Events Are This Year?
Remember, you will most likely be competing in more than one event, so find a couple that you like! Trust me, they are all good, or else they wouldn't be here!
