    Fine Motor/Sensory:

Dig for worms outside!  Use a spoon if you don't have a small handheld shovel/trowel.  See if you child can dig/move away dirt to find any worms!  See if your child will hold the worm either by themselves or with you.  Put the worm back on the dirty and watch him slither away.   (If it is raining or cold outside, try having them dig for worms inside (you could put rice in a bowl with something that resembled a worm (a pipe cleaner, a section of a straw, a Q-tip).

Language: Look at the pictures below of bugs.  (lady bug, butterfly, bee, ant, fly, grasshopper, beetle).  Talk with your child to see if he/she knows what each bug is.  You can point out things about that bug (big vs little, flies or walks, color of the bug, etc...)  If your child is verbal, you can ask them those questions instead of telling them.

    Social Emotional:

Play with your child.  Have him or her lead the play time by choosing what toys/activity to do.  Follow his or her lead, but make sure to sneak in some modeling as well (to play with toys correctly, take turns with toys, turn the toys into other things, etc...) Have a fun time!  Your child loves when you enter into his or her world!
