E-Learning Activities for Friday, April 17th
Theme: Bugs *All activities for today will be found on this page only*
Gross Motor: Create an obstacle course for your child inside. Be creative! Use painters tape to make a balance beam to walk on. Use couch cushions to form a tunnel to crawl through. Create a web with string or streamers for them to crawl under. Have them help you create the course if they are able to. You may need to model what to do before they do it so they understand what is being asked. Make it extra fun by pretending to be certain insects as you go through (fly through like a butterfly, crawl through like a beetle, slither through like a worm, etc..)
Fine Motor: Caterpillar color matching! Cut circles out from different colors of paper (2 circles per color). Tape the first circle on the wall. Mix up the second set of circles and have them pick a color to go color match to the first. Once all circles are matched, they will have made a caterpillar on the wall!
Sensory: Play Doh time! Grab the Play-Doh and see what bugs you and your child can create with Play-Doh! Practice rolling into balls to create a bug or rolling into long snakes to make a worm! See how many bugs you can make together!
Social Emotional: Practice playing board games with your child. Work on turn taking and sustaining attention. Have the child pick out the game to play to encourage participation.
Language: Do you see any bug/insect books lying around your house! Give your child a choice on which one he/she wants read to them (or read them all!).
If not, feel free to use this online book, It's a Firefly Night!
Student Checklist: (only one per week - if you don't have a printer, you could write it down to return in your child's folder)
