E-Learning Activities for Wednesday, May 13th!
Theme: Weather *All activities for today will be found on this page only*
Gross Motor: Dance along to these fun weather related songs!
Fine Motor: Practice picking up raindrops with your clouds! This activity involves water (either plain or colored blue) along with cotton balls. Place a few drops of water on the counter, cookie sheet, or plate. Give your child their "cloud" (cotton ball) and see if they can soak up the raindrops. Be sure to work on that tripod grasp as they pick up their cloud.
If your child will be going into Kindergarten in the Fall, have him/her practice writing their first name independently, in addition to the activity above.
Sensory: Make some snow dough with your child with only a few simple ingredients at home: 1/2 cup condition and 3 cups baking soda (you could cut the recipe in half and only do 1/4 cup of condition and 1.5 cups of baking soda). Have them feel the snow dough that they just made! What does it feel like? Is it hot or cold? What color is it?
Social Emotional: Talk a walk outside with your child. When you get back, lay in the grass and look up at the clouds. Talk about the clouds (color of them, if they look like pictures, if they look big or small, do they look fat or thin, etc...)
