• Child Development Child Development is an introductory course that is especially relevant for students interested in careers that draw on knowledge of children, child development, and nurturing of children.  This course addresses issues of child development from conception/prenatal through age 3. It includes the study of prenatal development and birth; growth and development of children; child care giving and nurturing; and support systems for parents and caregivers. Direct, concrete mathematics and language arts proficiencies will be applied. This course includes taking home a baby simulator and interacting with toddlers in a child care environment. This course provides the foundation for continuing and post-secondary education in all areas career areas related to children, child development, and nurturing of children.

  • A new state law has been passed that requires parent/guardian permission slip to study sex education.  Much of Child Development involves some form of sex education from conception through infant development.  Please sign the attached permission slip.Child Development Consent

    Baby Think It Over packet is due one week after you bring your baby back to school! Babies will go home on a Friday and be returned on Monday.  SRT gold period will be required to attend the week the student takes Baby home. Information to complete the packet is found under the BTIO Resource Folder.
