I'm so happy you stopped by. I update this web page most Sunday nights.
We our currently in our third Unit, "Cooperation". It will last for nine weeks.
The Essential Question for the unit is: How does my cooperation impact the world around me? This week we will be exploring "How do my personal decisions and actions affect others?"
During this unit we will work with long vowels made with sneaky -e and long e made ee. We will spend 2 weeks on each spelling pattern, so the spelling tests will take place every TWO weeks instead of every week. Also, since we are in the third unit, students will be expected to write 3 sentences with three of the spelling words on each test.
Thank you to everyone who sent supplies to school for our Valentine's Day party. The kids had a great time. Thank you especially to Mrs. Hiatt and Mrs. Freeland for volunteering at the party and making it such a great success.
Each Thursday our class works with Mrs. Laser's third grade class to produce a schoolwide newsletter. Our goal is to publish 3 times before the end of the year. Ask your child what part he or she is working on for our first issue.
Please remember to send a warm coat, hat and gloves to school. We go outside as long as the windchill is 20 degrees or higher.
Please help your child to remember to return all reading books and folders each morning.
If you send money to school, please put it in an envelope or a ziploc bag with your child's name and the purpose of the money. That way I can help your child get the money to the right place.
If you haven't had a chance to explore the Bridges Math activities and resources there, feel free to do it at any time.
If you need to reach me with any questions or concerns this year please feel free to send a note in your child's folder, call me at 544-6200 or email me email@example.com.
