Strong Community - Strong Schools • Operating Referendum

In 2018, Avon-Washington Township voters approved an Operating Referendum campaign for additional financial support. As a result, we have dramatically improved class sizes, provided meaningful raises for teachers and support staff, and added support for our students. On November 4, 2025, Avon-Washington Township voters approved a renewal — or continuation — of the Operating Referendum.

Preparing for the Future • K-8 Redistricting Project

At the beginning of the 2025-26 school year:

our elementary schools (Cedar, Hickory, Maple, Pine Tree, River Birch, and Sycamore) began serving students in kindergarten through grade 5,
Evergreen Elementary (Avon Intermediate School East) and Willow Elementary (AIS West) became k-5 elementary schools,
Avon Middle School North and South began serving students in grades 6-8,
Avon Middle School West — our third middle school— opened its doors for the first time, and
the ongoing renovation and expansion project at Avon High School was completed.

A Legacy of Growth • ACSC Strategic Expansion Plan

As Avon and Washington Township have grown, student enrollment in Avon Schools has grown, too. As a school corporation, our strategy has been to manage growth by maximizing each square foot of our school buildings, controlling costs by expanding existing schools before building new, and minimizing disruption to students, families, and employees by only making changes when necessary.

On a Mission • 2025-26 Strategic Plan

ACSC is a place where ALL belong, learn, and grow.

These are not just words. They are our mission. These words give direction and motivation for all who have the privilege of serving our nearly 11,000 students. Success in achieving our mission will not happen by chance. It takes intentionality. When we do realize success, continued success is never guaranteed. Continuing to be successful also requires a plan.
