Strategic Plan

I regularly repeat our mission: “Avon Community School Corporation is a place where ALL belong, learn, and grow.” These are not just words. They give direction and motivation for all who have the privilege of serving our nearly 11,000 students.
Success in achieving our mission will not happen by chance. It takes intentionality. When we do realize success, continued success is never guaranteed. Continuing to be successful also requires a plan.
To help us reach and exceed our goals, I submit this strategic plan for the 2025-26 school year. It takes an honest look at our current status and provides a path to overcome obstacles, seize opportunities for growth, and maximize our greatest strengths.
Our three district goals were set by the ACSC Board of Trustees in collaboration with district leaders. The seven-step action plans provide a roadmap for the pursuit of our goals and progress.
I often refer to myself as 'the proud Superintendent of Avon Schools'. I am proud. I'm proud of our team. I am proud of the work outlined on the following pages. I am confident this plan moves us toward our desired outcomes this school year.
Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,

Scott Wyndham, Ed.D.
Superintendent

Strategic Planning Process
Our 7-Step Process for Creating Action Plans
1. Objectives - The first step is to identify the what of the strategic planning process. What are the steps to achieve our goals? What do we want to accomplish?
2. Strategies - Step two involves determining the how of the process. How will we achieve our objectives? How will we get to where we want to go?
3. Timeline - The third step of the process involves figuring out the when questions. When does this need to be achieved? When does this effort need to begin and end?
4. Assigned Staff - Step number four involves determining answers to who questions. Who is leading this work from a district level to engage broader stakeholders.
5. Data - Step five is where we answer why questions and determine measurable outcomes.
6. Detractors - We identify the issues that might influence the outcome or jeopardize our efforts in step six.
7. Preventions - The final step involves coming up with solutions to issues that might arise. How can we mitigate this? How can we address issues?
