Hello and Welcome!Only a handful of public schools systems in the US can boast a learning resource like the
Avon Outdoor Learning Center (OLC)
Started back in the 1980's, the OLC is a 7 acre gem where students can put classroom information into real world practices...
History, Science, Math, Social Studies and Language Arts all come to life, engaging all the senses!
Annually, about 10,000 local students take part in our programs. We offer educational experiences for all ages in our area- please ask about how to utilize our site and schedule a visit.
Mrs. Davies was awarded the 2019 Joe Wright Recognition of Excellence Award for lifetime commitment to environmental education by the Environmental Education Assiciation of Indiana. Congratulations and thank you for all of your innovative work on behalf our community! Pictured here with OLC mentor and retired DNR state forester Sam Carman.
