The Avon Aerial Orioles are a performance and competition jump rope team. It is the purpose of the Avon Aerial Orioles Jump Rope Team to promote the sport of jump rope as fun, challenging, competitive and entertaining to people of all ages. While doing so, we also promote dedication, good aerobic health and community spirit and involvement. As team members, jumpers learn cooperation, responsibility and teamwork, which help build a positive self-image for the jumper.Who We Are
The Avon Aerial Orioles were formed in October 1989 by a former Maple Elementary P. E. teacher, Linda Ireland. There are currently 32 team members ranging in age from 7-19. The AAO's perform in many different venues both locally, around the state, country and even the world. We can be seen performing at the Avon Optimist Fish Fry, the Avon Heritage Festival, area High School and College half time shows, and Elementary Convocations, to name a few
The Avon Aerial Orioles is an organization whose members learn to use jump rope as a fitness tool, as well as a means to grow physically, emotionally and socially. Jumpers also learn the importance of cooperation, volunteerism, positive choices and community service. They learn to build a team by working toward a common goal. They learn the true meaning of "TEAM" as they see their individual strengths contribute to the ultimate success of the program!
Please contact us for information on having the Avon Aerial Orioles perform at your next event. We would love to share our love of the sport of jump rope with you.
