    NEW* - Due to COVID, track may potentially be a cut sport this season. During our first full week of practice, coaches will evaluate numbes, times, distances, etc. and decide on making cuts as or if needed. 
     
     
    When/Where - First practice is Monday, March 15th after school until 4:30pm. Athletes will meet in the cafeteria to begin. 
     
    Grade Checks will be checked the week of March 15th-19th.  Any athlete with an F will not be able to participate. 
     
    Fees: All fees must be paid before first meet!  
     
    $25 Athletic Fee (One time fee-may have already paid if athelete was in another sport)
    $50 Program Support Fee
    $30 Uniform/Track Shirt

    Items Needed:
    To Practice - running shoes and/or track spikes (not mandatory), shorts - no cheer shorts, t-shirts - no tank tops, water bottle, and cold weather clothes. We will go outside regardless of temperature. 
     
    To participate - Physical on file in PRIVIT (Athletes can't practice without Physical)
    -Updated Process for 2020-2021 School Year - If eligible last year your physical is still good for this current season. However, you must update your online documents and fill out the new COVID form. Physicals are only required for new athletes (i.e. a 7th grader who has not participated yet this year, or an 8th graders who hasnt ever participated). Avon Athletics uses a completely paperless clearance process. The process includes a paperless IHSAA pre-participation physical. A parent/guardian and student-athlete will be required to create an account and manage the necessary documents using the Privit Portal (see link above). 
     
    ALL Black Shorts to run in meets
     
    -Due to the size of the track team, only the top performing athletes in each event will participate in the meet. This includes traveling to away meets. Every effort will be made to place athletes in reserve races/events at the home meets scheduled with consideration based on work ethic and attitude.
