Every elementary student is expected to eat a mid-day meal. Breakfast is optional and parents can decide if they want their student to eat breakfast. The Sycamore Café provides breakfast and lunch daily; students may opt to bring a sack lunch from home. A student breakfast is $1.15 daily. A student lunch is $1.90 daily. Students may also purchase ala carte items, such as ice cream, cookies, chips, etc. WINSNAP, a computerized food service account system is used to process student meal payments. Each student has an individual account and picture ID card that will track prepayments and items purchased daily. The ID cards are not to go home. The cashier collects these after lunch and puts the cards on a rack for use at the next meal. The Sycamore Café accepts cash or checks made out to Sycamore Elementary School. Should you have more than one child enrolled in the building, you may write one check for breakfast/lunch payments. Send money in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and teacher written on the front. Parents may also indicate on the envelope the amount of the deposit that is for breakfast/lunch payments and the amount of the deposit that is for ala carte items. When no instructions are provided on the envelope, the money will be deposited as breakfast/lunch payments in the student’s account. This year payments can also be made online at www.mylunchmoney.com with either credit or debit cards. Parents can go online and follow the directions on the website to put money into their child’s account and check on the balance of the account. Avon Community Schools may not be held liable for money lost or credited to an incorrect account, when a student’s name is not provided on the envelope. As students move through the café line, the cashier will deduct their purchases from their respective accounts. Students are encouraged not to charge meals; however, when emergency situations occur, students may charge up to 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and no ala carte items may be charged. Students will receive a carton of milk and peanut butter sandwich when they exceed this limit. Delinquent notices are sent home with students daily. You can inquire about your child’s lunch account by calling 272-3136 and asking for the Café.
