  • Mission Statement:

The White Oak Elementary School PTO’s mission is to encourage open communication while also fostering a positive partnership between the parents and staff.  Our commitment is to enhance and maximize the education of every student while assisting them in achieving their highest potential.

  • A message from the PTO President......

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families of White Oak Elementary School.  The White Oak Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a parent and teacher volunteer organization that supports the school by organizing volunteers for various programs and by providing financial assistance through fundraising for programs and items not available through school funding to supplement FUN experiences for our children. With your help, together we can create MEMORABLE experiences for our children at school THIS year!

What does the PTO really do?

We have PTO sponsored and PTO supported events planned throughout the year that supports educational strategies in the classrooms, friendship building events, fun experiences in and outside of the classroom, athletic activities that encourage health and wellness and opportunities for Parents to meet Teachers and other Parents too!

We can do these by direct and indirect fundraising. Examples of indirect fundraising are Box Tops, Shoparoo, Tyson Project A+, Kroger Community Rewards and Amazon Smile. These programs allow us to passively raise funds by accumulating points or clips that you provide to us with your everyday shopping. We also raise funds through direct fundraising. This is where we will ask you to come out and support with purchases or donations. These include “Spirit Nights”, Spirit Wear and Major Fundraising events that we typically hold in the Fall and Spring. Check out our PTO Money Makers tab to find out more information.

In the past we have been able to provide funding for each child to attend an educational field trip, funding for teacher grants for each Teacher to make purchases for their classroom and interactive convocations for the student body to participate in, just to name a few. We want to continue providing these things for our children and maybe even more and we can’t do it without your help!!

How can I help our children have a Spectacular year?

There are many new opportunities this year to join in on the fun! We have Committees that you can register to join where you can help at home just by cutting out shapes for Teachers or you can join a Committee where you help plan an event such as the 4th Grade Farewell party at the end of the year. Take a moment to look over the Committee Descriptions in the Member Resources link to the left to see what you would be interested in and you can join as many as you like!!! Online registration is something new we have incorporated this year and you will be able to find it at the Committees/Volunteers page.

We will have free childcare at our Meetings which will fall on the 2nd Wednesday of every month unless otherwise specified. An easy way to remember is “Yay!, It's 1-hour delay and PTO Meeting Day!!” .

I look forward to meeting you and hearing your ideas on how we can work together to create a memorable year for our children! Together, we make great things happen!

    Sincerely,

    Tracy Justice
