Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Julie A. Stevens

I am a 1st grade teacher at Maple Elementary School. This is my 15th year teaching--all 15 years in first grade. I graduated from Indiana University with my Bachelor's degree in elementary education. Shortly thereafter, I completed my Master's degree in elementary education with a focus on technology education. I recently went back to graduate school to earn my license to teach High Ability Learners from Ball State University.

I grew up on the Southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Southport High School. After graduating college, I taught 5 years in Perry Township and another 5 years in a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas. This is my 5th year teaching in Avon.

My husband, Craig, and I are busy raising 3 amazing children: Angela, Matt, and Taylor. Angela loves singing and theater at Brownsburg High School. Matt is an 8th grader at Avon Middle School South and keeps busy with travel baseball. Taylor is a 5th grader at Avon Intermediate School West and loves art classes, 4-H, and volleyball.

We also have a few fur babies--our cat, Chloe, and our dog, Cooper.

I am excited about teaching your child this year!
