    Avon Community School Corporation (ACSC) is located just west of Indianapolis, Indiana. ACSC offers children high quality educational instruction with a keen focus on improving student achievement. We serve approximately 10,000 students in grades Pre-K to 12 in twelve schools (seven elementary; two intermediate; two middle and one high school). White Oak Elementary School will be converted into a Pre-K Center in 2021. More than 1,300 employees work diligently to advance the academic success of our diverse student population. ACSC operates on a balanced calendar schedule.

    The Community

    Avon & Hendricks County 

    The Town of Avon is located five miles west of Indianapolis in Hendricks County and is ten minutes away from Indianapolis International Airport. Avon was the first Tree City USA Community in Hendricks County and prides itself in the preservation of the natural environment. There are 30 parks and five golf courses within five miles of the town’s center. Money Magazine rated Avon as the 17th best place to live in America.

    Strategic Goals

     
    In January 2020, the Superintendent and School Board initiated Phase One of revisions to the ACSC Strategic Plan. The revisions are expected to be finalized within the next eighteen months. The Board will seek input from all stakeholders. Phase One Reads as Follows:
     

    In cooperation with our community, we will: 

    • Improve equitable student achievement.

    • Support systemic innovation through professional development.

    • Support student well-being and the whole child (healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged).
