The National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB) was created to give high school students an opportunity to learn about applied ethics through the analysis of cases that incorporate real world ethical conflicts. For instance, 3-5 students form a panel and discuss issues such as the moral implications of E (electronic) waste. They prepare a case and present their views based on moral reasoning in a competition against other high school teams who have done the same. The team with the most developed argument wins the round. Avon High School's Ethics Bowl team competes at the Midwest Regional Ethics Bowl competition at DePauw University. Students who are interested in understandiing and evaluating real world ethical dilemmas as well as speaking in a competitive setting will find this team to be a perfect fit for them.
