Miss Kendall Theile
My name is Kendall Theile and I am going into my second year of teaching at Sycamore! I will be teaching 4th grade this year and I look forward to reconnecting with the students that I worked with this past year in 3rd grade. I am originally from Bloomington, Indiana, however Indianapolis has been my home since I went to college. I attended Butler University, where I studied Elementary Education and Special Education. I am super excited to take on this school year and help grow the minds of amazing young scholars!
To be an effective teacher, I believe that teachers should teach skills outside the textbook, such as lifeskills, positive mindsets and how to be a well-rounded citizen in one's community. Teachers should also constantly provide differentiated instruction to all learners, as each learners requires their own needs and support services. I also believe that a teacher should be an advocate for the whole child, rather than just toward academics. Teachers should be a supporter, a nurturer, a guide, advocate and a positive presence in each child's life.
