Academy Launches Lunch & Learns

Each year at Avon Academy, we incorporate new ways to broaden our students’ experiences and knowledge of the community. This year, we are using an event called Lunch & Learn to facilitate this. Every other week, we extend lunch by 30 minutes to give students time to eat lunch while they enjoy a guest speaker.

In August, we kicked off our first Lunch & Learn with Moussa Ibrahim from Old National Bank. Moussa discussed the challenges he faced in life and how he persevered to overcome them. Our students were engaged and asked lots of great questions. 

Last week, the CFO of Avon Community School Corporation, Sheila Glass, led our students in team building activities, shared her story, and discussed community and resilience. Sheila talked about not giving up and using opportunities around you to succeed,
