ACSC Receives Donation for Classroom Calming Kits

The members of Crossroads Church participated in a special offering recently, and due to their generosity, they were able to fund a special initiative at Avon Schools. Coupled with additional grant funding from Project AWARE—and just in time for spring testing—this gift is being used to provide classroom calming kits for Avon's elementary students.

"Children learn best when they are safe," says Avon Schools Mental Wellness Coordinator Krista Fay. "We are so grateful to Crossroads Church for this gift. These calming kits will be a welcome addition to our elementary classrooms."

These multi-sensory kits include: 

• comfy seat cushions, 
• fidgets,
• puzzles,
• breathing guides,
• and other age-appropriate calming items.

There are enough kits to provide one for every elementary classroom in Avon's six elementary schools.
