AHS Senior Wins Lilly Scholarship

Avon High School senior Dheer Pandya is one of three Hendricks County members of the class of '26 who have earned the prestigious Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship.

Dheer stood out to the scholarship committee in their review of more than 400 applications from across the county.

"Knowing Dheer personally over the past few years, I am thrilled for him and how this scholarship will aid him in pursuing his college and career aspirations," says AHS Principal Matt Shockley. "The Lilly Scholarship is an acknowledgement of Dheer’s academic excellence, contributions to our school community, servant leadership, and his character."

A press release from our friends at the Hendricks County Community Foundation relays some of Dheer's information and accomplishments:

Dheer Pandya is the son of Yogesh Pandya and Mugdha Pandya. He has served as director of international projects and director of rotary partnership in the Avon High School Interact Club, violist for the symphony top-orchestra at Avon, and has held the title of vice president for the Avon High School Bring Change to Mind Club. Dheer also volunteers time as a developmental swimming instructor and participates in other community volunteering opportunities. He plans to attend the University of Notre Dame and major in Neuroscience, with the career goal of clinical neuropsychologist.

Dheer is a truly outstanding student and human being and we can't wait to see where his journey takes him!
