AHS Teacher Wins Outstanding Educator Award

Avon High School Teacher and Director of Theatre Caitlyn Steckbeck recently won the Outstanding Educator Award for Indiana Thespians. 

Caught off guard by the honor of winning and then surprised by recognizing that several family members, former students, and current students were on hand to celebrate, Steckbeck remarked, "I had no idea any of this was happening!" 

Steckbeck's students nominated her for the award. In the nomination, an AHS Theatre Student wrote, "In every task she does, the standards are set high. This is a constant reminder to her students to always climb higher and to not settle for mediocre [outcomes]. ... She provides a safe and comfortable environment for creative minds but also pushes her students to always be improving."
