AHS Valedictorian Receives Board Commendation

Avon High School Valedictorian Emma Cooper took a break from studying for her final AP exams to attend the May 9 Avon Board of School Trustees meeting where she received a Board Commendation for her academic achievement and school citizenship.

A student in Avon Schools since kindergarten, Cooper has compiled an impressive list of achievements:

• Valedictorian (5.414 GPA)
• AP Scholar with Distinction
• National Spanish Exam Honorable Mention
• Indiana Academic All-Star
• Class of 2022 Rising Star
• National Honor Society
• National Spanish Honor Society
• Outstanding Student of the Year in College Algebra II ACE, AP Chemistry, AP European History, and AP Calculus AB
• Co-President of National Computer Science Honor Society
• Co-President of Girls Who Code
• 4-year Varsity Athletic Award Winner
• Academic All-American
• AIM Mentor

Cooper earned the Purdue Presidential Scholarship and the Purdue Academic All-Star Scholarship. She'll study Actuary Sciences at Purdue University starting this fall.
