Angie Jones is the '24 Indiana School Food Service Employee of the Year
Today is School Lunch Hero Day, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate school food service personnel for their contribution to our students' educational experience.
One very special person, Avon Intermediate School West Cafeteria Manager Angie Jones, got a big surprise today. She learned that the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) selected her as the 2024 Indiana School Food Service Employee of the Year.
AIS West students and staff gathered in the cafeteria along with friends from the IDOE, the American Dairy Association Indiana, Principal Amber Walters, Assistant Principal Laura Lee, Food Service Director Emily Cates, Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham, Assistant Superintendents Dr. Michael Sullivan and Carrie Alday, and members of Mrs. Jones's family to celebrate with her.
In Avon Schools, our food service personnel are incredible. They prepare nutritious meals each day for thousands of hungry learners, and they do it with kindness. We salute Mrs. Jones and all our school lunch (and breakfast!) heroes.
