Avon Musicians Earn Awards at ISSMA Contest

On January 27 and February 3, Avon Schools hosted the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Solo & Ensemble contest. This competition allows students to perform a solo or in a group for a judge and to get feedback on their performance. 

Across grades 6-12, 653 students participated in these events over the two days, which is a record for Avon! We're thrilled to report that 385 students achieved "Gold" rating for superior performances and 33 received "Silver" rating for a good performance.

There will be 62 students participating in State Solo & Ensemble this year. These students performed a piece of music in the Group 1 category which is the most difficult music.
