Avon Choirs Wrap Stellar Season with State Title

Avon High School Choirs had a stellar season this year, and they wrapped up the season with outstanding results at the state competition — including the program's state title.

Attraction

For the second year in a row (and third time in four years), the Avon Attraction, our all-female show choir, was named the State Runner-Up by a very small margin at the ISSMA State Show Championships in the univoice division. They also took home the "Best Visuals" category at this contest. Attraction had an amazing season topped off with this great finish. They were named grand champions in the univoice division four times this year. The past several years they have been one of the best women's show choirs in the state. Audiences look forward to seeing what the Attraction will do each year, because every year they are truly entertaining. This year was no different. The struggle between the good and bad genies entertained each week as they made the "right" choice in the end. They are directed by Drew Stainbrook and Leah Trigg and choreographed by Jennifer Toney! Congratulations, Attraction, on another great season!

Accents

For the first time in school history, the Avon Accents (mixed show choir) was named the ISSMA State Show Choir Grand Champions for the mixed division! They swept both captions, winning the "Best Vocals" and "Best Visuals" trophies, as well. Under the direction of Leah Trigg and Drew Stainbrook and Choregraphed by Brooke Smolder and David Legg, this group went undefeated this competition season, winning all six of their contests. The Olympic Show became very popular and audiences from all schools couldn't wait to see it each week. It was truly special to see how this group embraced a challenging yet very fun and spirited show!
