Avon Marching Black & Gold Receives Commendation
The Avon Board of School Trustees honored the Avon Marching Black and Gold for yet another success-laden season at their meeting on January 10.
AMBG earned yet another Indiana state championship and a third-place finish at the Bands of America Grand Nationals. This is the program's 15th state championship and 14th Grand National podium in the last 15 years. (They only failed to place in the top three in 2020 ... when the competition was canceled.) This long pattern of success is unprecedented, making AMBG a marching band dynasty.
Drum Majors this year were: Mia Larson, Hadley Zeller, Jerry Wilkerson (not pictured), Olivia Mason, and Mackenzie Faust.
