Avon Middle School Students Shine in All-Region Band

The musical talent of Avon Middle Schools North, South, and West was on full display this weekend as 23 exceptional student musicians were selected to perform in the prestigious Indiana Bandmasters Association (IBA) All-Region Band. This highly competitive selection honors some of the finest middle school instrumentalists in the central Indiana region.

The dedicated students spent their entire day on Saturday, November 15, immersed in rigorous practice sessions to prepare for their culminating performance. This intensive rehearsal day provided a unique educational opportunity, as the students had the distinct privilege of learning from and playing under the direction of Don Fisher, a highly respected and recently retired Carmel Middle School band director.

The hard work and dedication of the Avon students—alongside their peers from across the region—culminated in a celebratory concert on Sunday, November 16th, at Zionsville West Middle School. The concert provided an inspiring platform for the students to showcase the skills they have honed and the pieces they mastered over the course of the weekend.

The selection of 23 students from Avon Middle Schools for this honor underscores the strength of the district's music education program and the unwavering dedication of its students and band staff.
