Avon Welcomes New Officer
Avon Schools kicked off the New Year by welcoming a new School Resource Officer (SRO) to the Police Department.
Officer Shelby James was sworn in on January 2 by Chief Sam Leahy. Two special helpers, Officer James' children, participated by helping to pin her new badge on her uniform.
Officer James comes to Avon having accumulated a Sociology and Criminal Justice from Franklin College and significant experience in mental health and child welfare in school settings.
We're excited to have Officer James as our newest SRO. If you see her at school or around the community, be sure to welcome her!
