Band, Choir, Orchestra Host 5th Grade 'Try-On' Nights

Our middle school music team has an important update for the parents of all current 5th grade students.

Dear 5th grade parents:

As your students enter one of our fantastic middle schools, one of their required class choices will be Band, Choir, or Orchestra. As many of you know, Avon prides itself on having world-class performing arts programs, including State and 2025 Grand National Winning Marching Band, State Champion Show Choir, and State Champion Orchestra! Whichever group your student chooses, there is a place and a home for them to grow and excel in music.

Next week, your students will be taking a field trip to the middle schools to hear the middle school ensembles perform. There, they will fill out a quick interest survey of their top ensemble in which they would like to be involved.

To get signed up and to “Try-On” Band, Choir, or Orchestra, students should plan on joining us for our Try-On nights* at the middle school they will be attending. Students will have a 15- to 30-minute window to “Try-On” instruments or voice.

• Tuesday, February 17 – 5-8pm 
• Wednesday, February 18 – 5-8pm

*If your student cannot make their designated middle school's night, they can sign-up at any of the nights (you only need to do this once).
