Band Director Earns High Honor

Karl Hartman, Assistant Director of the Avon Marching Black & Gold, has earned membership in the Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters' Fraternity Gamma Chapter (Indiana).

According to the award letter from Phi Beta Mu Board Member Tom Cox, this "is the highest honorary international band directors' fraternity. It was organized to encourage the building of better bands and the development of better musicians in schools throughout the world and to foster deeper appreciation of good music."

Mr. Hartman was selected for membership on the basis of his position as a conductor of a consistently superior band, his demonstrated leadership in the profession, his statewide leadership roles, and his personal character.

Congratulations, Mr. Hartman, for earning this great honor!
