Birds of a Feather
... flock together — whether they're Orioles or they're Cardinals.
Avon High School grads Sophie Schick (class of '23) and Wyatt Maher (class of '24) were both anchors and reporters for Avon TV during their time as Orioles. Emma Baysinger (class of '23) worked behind the scenes. Now Ball State Cardinals, these grads are carrying on where they left off.
Sophie is an Anchor, Producer, and Managing Editor of Ball State's Newslink station. Wyatt auditioned for and earned a spot as an Anchor as a freshman. Emma is working behind the scenes as an Associate Producer.
AHS Broadcast Teacher Lauren Tauer, who worked at the same station during her time at Ball State, is thrilled to see three former Orioles working together again. "I'm so excited for them," says Tauer.
Another AHS graduate, Corrine O'Neil, graduated from Ball State last spring and she's now directing news coverage at WISH-TV. Perhaps Sophie, Wyatt, and Emma won't be far behind.
