Congrats to our Harris Academy Grads

Congratulations to 45 Avon High School students who graduated from Harris Academy this week. These students have displayed tremendous grit and determination to earn their diplomas in the face of challenges.

"I have come to know these students and their unique circumstances this year," says Avon Academy Coordinator Kellie Rodkey. "I am proud to see them graduate. They all have much to offer, and I'm glad they've had the supportive environment at Harris Academy to help them get to this point." 

As enrollment has grown at Harris Academy, a shared program for high school students in Brownsburg and Avon Schools, it has become clear that continued growth requires the school corporations to begin operating independent programs. In July, Avon Academy will open its doors for the first time, welcoming students into its freshly remodeled space in the Avon Schools Administration Center. Not only will Avon Academy be able to serve a larger number of students, the program will take on a distinctly Avon flavor.

"Attending the Harris Academy graduation this week made the opening of Avon Academy feel that much closer," says Rodkey. "I am so excited to welcome students to Avon Academy for the first day of school on July 27."
