Debate Students Perform Well at State

Debate Students Perform Well at State
The Avon High School Debate Team finished in 8th place at the State Debate tournament in Kokomo. This is the third year in a row that the debate team has finished in the top 10 at State.
Top individual performances for Avon were Olivia Gibson finishing 5th in the state in Congress Debate and Janani Devendran and Jay Desai who finished in 10th and 13th in Congress, respectively. Also, Avon's World Schools Debate team placed 5th in the state with a record of 10-2 for the tournament. Those team members were River Burris, Will Clinton, Adam Foudali, Liam Hoffman, and Jack Lloyd.
Congratulations, Avon Debaters, for another outstanding season! Also, congratulations to our debaters Olivia Gibson and Janani Devendran for qualifying in Congress Debate for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Iowa this June!
