Dr. Wyndham is District V Superintendent of the Year
Dr. Scott Wyndham is the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents (IAPSS) 2026 District V Superintendent of the Year.
The first person to give praise and the last to seek it, Dr. Wyndham has had an impressive tenure as Avon Schools Superintendent by all measures. Hoosier Superintendents have recognized his impact by giving him this award.

Since becoming Superintendent nearly six years ago at the height of the pandemic, Dr. Wyndham has led Avon Schools through:
- adoption of our "ALL belong, learn, and grow" mission
- district-wide adoption of Professional Learning Communities, driving student achievement by cultivating teacher teams, encouraging data-driven decision-making, and aligning curriculum
- sustained improvement in standardized test scoring (top 10% in ILEARN and top 5% in SAT)
- completion of major construction, renovation, and expansion projects and grade realignment with k-8 redistricting
- successful renewal of the 2018 referendum to provide low class sizes, increased student supports, and improved teacher pay

"The Avon community has been my home for nearly 20 years, and I’m proud to serve alongside students and staff who inspire me every day. Their dedication and tireless pursuit of excellence is the foundation of our community’s strong support for our schools."
According to an IAPSS press release, "District winners are selected by fellow superintendents for their leadership, professional accomplishments, and impact on students and schools. Wyndham will now be considered, along with seven other district honorees, for the 2027 Indiana Superintendent of the Year, which will be announced in October."
