Episode 062: Avon Middle School West Project Overview
It's been nearly 15 years since we have launched a new school construction project in Avon Schools - quite an achievement for a fast-growing school corporation. Learn about how Avon Schools has managed to avoid new school construction for so long and learn about all that will happen at Avon Middle School West between last month's groundbreaking ceremony and the July 2025 ribbon cutting ceremony.
During this conversation between Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham, CFO Sheila Glass, and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Michael Sullivan, you'll learn about the work that has already occurred, what is coming in the next several months, and how Avon Schools will be able to complete this project with no taxpayer impact and without the use of referendum funds. Keep listening for a preview of when and how Avon parents/guardians will be able to speak into the process of determining new school start and end times, new elementary school boundaries, and more. The goal of the process, which will officially begin around the start of the 2024-25 school year, is to ensure all Avon students continue to have equitable access to an excellent education, no matter which schools they attend. We hope you'll share their excitement for how this big project will position Avon Schools to continue providing excellent educational environments and experiences for students not only in the 2025-26 school year but for decades to come.
