Episode 064: Your 2023 BOA Grand National Champions
What does it feel like to be the Director and Assistant Director of the Bands of America Grand National Champion Avon Marching Black & Gold (AMBG) on the Tuesday after winning the competition? In the words of Director Matt Harloff, "For me it's just like fast forward, crazy, nuts! I'm trying to enjoy it as much as I can." Assistant Director Karl Hartman says, "I had to go back and watch the award ceremony on Sunday because I didn't remember a darn thing about about it. It was like, 'What's going on right now?'. Total shock. It's just now starting to sink in a little bit."
Join Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham in this special episode as he talks all about AMBG's Bands of America Grand National Championship, the fourth in the AHS Band's illustrious history. Find out what has kept them at AHS for so long, the factors to which they attribute the growth and success of the program, how the blue-collar ethic shared by the Town of Avon, AHS, and the band continues to drive results.
