Episode 50: Avon High School Roborioles

Episode 50: Avon High School Roborioles

Automation, artificial intelligence, and computer programming used to be the stuff of science fiction novels and high-budget films. Today, these are among the high school STEM subjects capturing students' imaginations, holding their attention, and producing incredible results. In this episode, Dr. Wyndham talks robotics with members of the Avon High School Roborioles: Peyton, Stephen, and their Teacher Chris Hill. This season, for the first time, Avon High School has fielded three separate teams of student innovators and all three have qualified to compete in the state competition in March. Listen in as Mr. Hill, Peyton, and Stephen explain how robotics competitions work, their process for bringing their designs from concept to reality, and how their hands-on STEM experiences at AHS are preparing them for exciting and fulfilling careers - not in science fiction, but in the real-world career landscape of the 21st Century.
