Holiday Help Program Meets Needs
One of the most remarkable things about the Avon-Washington Township Community is the willingness of individuals, businesses, and institutions to step up and help when neighbors are in need.
Fueled by help from a dozen community partners, the Holiday Help Program is meeting a record number of needs this season.
This year, a record number of Avon students — 479 — will benefit from the generosity of a record number of community partners — 12 — through the program. Members of the Avon Administration Center staff and School Counselors begin planning in September. Through the fall, they identify students whose families might need extra help around the holidays. They gather information and begin working with community partners, who then deliver gifts to the Administration Center so they can be distributed before winter break begins.
The purpose is to make sure that all Avon Students have the opportunity to enjoy presents this holiday season, and that's a wonderful gift from the community.
We are incredibly grateful to our community partners: American Legion, Project A.N.G.E.L., Ray Skillman, Metro Indy Board of Realtors, Crossroads Church, Connection Pointe Christian Church Avon, Hendricks Regional Health YMCA, Avon Schools HR Department, Plainfield Correctional Facility, Love Is Moving, and Hendricks County FOP Lodge 132 Shop With a Cop.
