HOSA Students Advance to Nationals

HOSA Students Advance to Nationals

by Angie Miller

This spring, 49 Avon High School students who are HOSA chapter members, along with advisors Angie Miller and Lori McAfee, attended the Indiana State Leadership Conference (SLC) for HOSA-Future Health Professionals at the Indianapolis Marriott East.

The 2025 SLC wars the largest in state history with 2,100 Hoosier students in attendance. The SLC is an opportunity for members to participate in over 90 competitive events. SLC also featured educational symposiums hosted by health professionals and interactive workshops hosted by Indiana HOSA alumni and health professionals. Members also had the opportunity to check out the annual HOSA Expo, where they explored different colleges and career paths in health care.

Five students qualified for HOSA’s International Leadership Conference, which will take place from June 18-21 in Nashville:

  • Sports Medicine: 2nd Place - Regina Edo (senior); 1st Place - Madison Haggard (senior)
  • Medical Spelling: 1st Place - Addison Davis (senior)
  • Medical Reading: 1st Place - Abby Young (junior)
  • Health Career Photography: 2nd Place - Alexis Rose (senior)

Congratulations, students and advisors!
