Indy Races to River Birch

During the month of May in Indianapolis, the Racing Capitol of the World, it's all about the Indy 500. Students at River Birch Elementary got to participate in pre-race festivities during a special assembly.

Indy 500 Princesses Shylah Beauchamp (Avon High School class of '20) and Gayle Baugh (niece of River Birch teacher Tina Davis) told the students all about their role as princesses and the history of the Indy 500. They brought along some surprises, too. Students got to check out one of the official pace cars – a sleek, silver Chevrolet Camaro. Even more exciting, they also got to meet former Indy 500 driver and current race team owner Sarah Fisher.

Students had an experience they'll never forget. Now, all that's left is to enjoy the greatest spectacle in racing!
