JAG Student Receives State, National Recognition

River Bolden, an Avon High School JAG student, is one of only five students in the nation and the only from Indiana to receive the $10,000 Ken Smith Scholarship from JAG National.

"River won 2nd place for Outstanding Senior in the state of Indiana," says AHS JAG Specialist Elena Stidham. "She plans to attend college (and is enrolled already) but has not revealed where yet, as her graduation party is also a College Reveal Party. She plans to go for computer science and computer engineering technology. River is quirky, fun, and lively -- the kind of student that lights up the room whenever she's there."

In recognition of this achievement, the Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Fred Payne, honored River at an event that Region 5 JAG held on Friday, April 29, at the Ivy Tech in Noblesville.

Congratulations, River!
