Krista Fay is Indiana's School Social Worker of the Year

Colleagues and executives from the Indiana School Social Work Association crashed a meeting of school social workers to notify School Counseling and Mental Wellness Coordinator Krista Fay that she is the 2022 Indiana School Social Worker of the Year.

"I'm going to treasure this," said Fay. In a tweet, she wrote, "I'm just so proud of the work our social workers and counselors are doing to support students, staff, families, and our community."

Fay joined the team at Avon Schools a few years ago, and her contributions have been significant. She and the Mental Wellness team have played a pivotal role in helping Avon Schools remain continue to be a place where all belong, learn, and grow, and Fay's program has grown into a model for school corporations across the Hoosier state.

"This award is so well deserved," said Superintendent Scott Wyndham, Ed.D. "Krista and her team have built incredible supports for our students. Congratulations, Krista!"
