Marching Black & Gold Honored at Statehouse

The Avon Marching Black & Gold were honored at the Indiana Statehouse on Monday, February 9, for their third consecutive (sixth overall) Grand National Championship and 18th Indiana State Championship, both earned in the fall.

Drum Majors Avery McDavid, Daniel Rieger, Marissa Kenworthy, Katie Kasten, and Makayla Poland were joined in the Senate chambers by Director of Bands Matt Harloff, Assistant Director of Bands, Matt Abbey, and Superintendent Dr. Scott Wyndham as Senator Brett Clark presented a resolution commending their incredible season.
