Meet Indiana's Distinguished Young Woman

Meet Indiana's Distinguished Young Woman
Avon High School senior Calleigh Neal is Indiana's Distinguished Young Woman, the first AHS student to win this honor. As our Hoosier representative, she will advance to participate in the national competition this summer in Alabama.
The following quote was taken from Calleigh's appearance on a recent episode of Dr. Wyndham's podcast, Orioles In-The-Know.
"Distinguished Young Woman is such an uplifting and encouraging program. There were 23 of us in total from across the state. ... It's so wonderful to see [other competitors] do the things that they're passionate about in a setting like that. I saw some of the most impressive performances I've ever seen in my life — feats of dance and singing and speech that I've never seen before at that calibre. It was really cool to watch. It'll be such an honor to represent the state of Indiana this summer." - Calleigh Neal
