Meet the Avon Optimist Oratorical Contest Winners
Their topic was 'How to Change the World with Optimism', and three Avon High School students delivered.
Calleigh Neal brought home first-place honors and Doyin Akande and Mercy Olaniyan earned second and third place, respectively. They each did a wonderful job and should be proud of not only the results they achieved but the content of their presentations.
In a press release, issued after the competition, Avon Optimist Club President John Haselden said, "Calleigh, Doyin, and Mercy did wonderful jobs presenting their speeches about the topic posed to them. The members of our Optimist Club have no doubt that all three have bright futures ahead [of] them."
Calleigh will represent the Avon Optimist Club at the regional competition on March 12.
Way to go, students!
