Meet Your '24 Sectional Champions!
The Avon Orioles boys basketball team is on a roll.
This weekend, they defeated both Terre Haute South (61-45) and Terre Haute North (49-41) to claim the school's fourth Sectional title, its first since 2018.
"The team ... beat the 9th ranked Terre Haute North Patriots and snapping their 18-game winning streak," said AHS Athletic Director Jason Young. "We believe that this year’s team is the first in school history to win the Hendricks County and Sectional [tournaments] in the same season."
The Orioles advance to face the Lawrence North Wildcats. The game tips off at 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, at Greenfield-Central High School.
