Multilingual Learner Families Unite via Zoom

The Multilingual Learner team has been hard at work supporting our multilingual students—and their families. 

Between the start of the 2021-22 school year in July and the end of the first semester in December, the number of students serviced in Avon Schools has grown by 41% or 321 students. These 1,101 students are distributed throughout our 12 schools and they comprise 11% of our total student enrollment.

With such a rapidly growing population, the ML team decided to begin a series of monthly meetings with these families. The meetings are designed to provide helpful information, connect families with needed supports, and provide a vital network of connections among parents and caregivers.
