Oriole Advocates Enjoy District Tour

The Oriole Advocates are Avon-Washington Township residents, business owners, and concerned citizens who believe that strong public schools are critical to our community's growth and success.

Each school year, this select group of individuals gathers approximately once a month to learn about the ins and outs of the Avon Community School Corporation. This month, they had an opportunity to get to know Avon Schools up front and personal on a tour of Willow Elementary, Avon High School, Avon Academy, and Avon Middle School West. They interacted with principals, visited classrooms, met students, chatted with educators, and received answers to their questions.

Here's what a few of the Advocates said about the experience:

"It was great to see the communication and interconnectedness that takes place within and between schools."

"You could tell that every teacher and staff member we encountered were committed to providing students the best education possible."

"The students were so well behaved. It wasn't like my high school experience. It felt safe at the high school."

"It's clear to me that you're changing students' lives.

"I'm excited to be able to talk with people in the community who don't get to go into our schools and to tell them what the schools are truly like."

Thank you, Advocates, for all you do to support our students and our schools!
